Did you know that the first 16 weeks of a puppy’s life are a critical blueprint phase? 80% of a puppy’s experience during this phase can go into their long-term memory. Early socialization during this time is key—positive interactions with people, dogs, and new environments build confidence and reduce future anxiety. And it’s important to do this safely—make sure your puppy meets other very skilled social dogs who can help train them, and they are all vaccinated. By doing so, we give them a strong, healthy foundation for a well-adjusted, happy life. I wanted to share a few clips of little Hattie’s journey so far, she has just joined our puppy program. At 10 weeks old this is her first interaction with dogs off lead. You can see how fearful and scared she is to start with, but by the second day she’s thriving with us. You could only imagine if this little puppy was kept inside away from meeting any dogs until she was fully vaccinated, which can be anything from 12 weeks to 16 weeks. The risk, is the fear can stay with them for a lifetime. Behavioural science now proves this. One day in a puppies life can equate to a week of experience. Knowing this, I made the decision to take my Zeta out into the world at 7 weeks old and she was put straight into our day care. She is now 5yrs old and the most robust, confident, social dog who now works in the business helping train other dogs and puppies. I always recommend to have a plan and start training the day your puppy arrives…..you will reap the rewards. We are so lucky to have so many puppies join our daycare🥰
They are also very lucky to be surrounded by great dogs while they’re with us.
We are a structured day care, and very proud of it. We also have a level of behaviour required that dogs need to meet to be able to join our daycare. This makes it the perfect environment for puppies to join us in a very safe environment, surrounded by great dogs.
Just like kids puppies can be influenced by the crowd they hang around, and if they are around good dogs then fantastic, but if they are around challenging dogs that’s exactly what they’re going to learn….challenging behaviour🙄
Here is little Penny only about 11 weeks old playing with Mochi who is nearly 12 months old. Just lovely to watch when socialisation is done right😍👏🐶

There are two clear different types of labradors. Lazy English, or high work drive American.. . All labradors aren’t the same so choose carefully to suit your lifestyle. I love them all, however your #dogtraining #dogsofinstagram #puppytraining #dogbehaviour American will require more work from us humans to fulfil them.. Jaffa is more an American Labrador who is 13 years old and still going🐶😍 24/04/2026
