Just a little project we did!

Waiting waiting waiting…In our business there are times where all you can do is wait…for good weather!

Did you know that for our projects requiring aerial photography, even bright sunny days are sometimes not good enough to get photography? 99% of our jobs need to be completely cloud free over the area of interest before we can fly.

This ensures we don’t get any shadow cast from clouds that can make the final orthophoto patchy and makes dark areas hard to map!

From May 2019 until August 2020 Schlencker Mapping scanned every State Controlled road (among others) in QLD!

We were tasked with locating and photographing every speed sign in the state! In the end, just over 71,000 speed signs were located, and photographed.

We used a combination of our Optech Maverick Mobile Scanner for State Controlled roads, as well as field teams using GPS units, for all other local streets and roads.

The largest project we have ever undertaken!
