Noosa Rural Produce staff arrived on Thursday morning to a wonderful surprise waiting at the front door to the business. A lovely Shetland Pony had been left for them and is now the family owned and operated business`mascot. A big thankyou to the donor of this great asset.

Claire won the monthly draw once again for the third time and gratefully received a bale of lucerne.

Relax Super Protein Plus is becoming a favourite and is an excellent topline product. Super Fibre Complete is also in demand. Both are lupin based, low in sugar and carbs and high in fibre.
Special of the week is Johnsons Fibre Balancer at $29 and only a few are left.

Starter Pullets ( young chickens almost ready to lay) are arriving in store on Wednesady 10 th June. Orders need to be made no later than Monday 8th to ensure some.

Noosa Rural Produce stock Laucke Mills Red Hen layer, free range meat free layer, seventeen crumble, 17% pellets, gamebird starter, showbird, gamebird maintainence and scratch mix. Chickens do require worming to optimise their health. Many chicken owners use diamataceous earth food grade to do this, while others use the grain with dewormer included or the use of piperzine mixture to be used in a water solution as per directions. Laucke Mills is not certifed organic although is a great grain at a lower cost. Customers note that eggs shells are stronger and chickens laying more often whilst eating this product. Free ranging for an hour or two before nightfall is always an excellent way to achieve protein at no cost. Sea kelp meal is another great inclusion into their food as it contains so many vitamins, minerals and amino acid. This is a such a versatile product as it is excellent when sprinkled in pots and gardens for optimun colour with flowers and wonderful vegetables. This is sold in packets of 1 kg.

Newly struck ruby red geraniums are free on the " free to take" table at the Noosa Rural Produce shop at Rene street Noosaville . Often free bananas, herbs, plants and buckets are on the table for customers who have a use for them. Crocheted chickens are the latest flavour of the month. After making a couple of these cuddly unique chickens, and placing them on view , admiring customers were gifted them.

Poisons for different requirements are in stock. Dicamba herbicide is available for the control of broadleaf w**ds, Gylphosphate 360 is the herbicide used for control of almost everything, while Multiturf is for control of w**d in those special turf varieties. Fortune 500 is a favourite insecticide and termicide and has been noted to be an excellent product with return customers. Grazon is a herbicide used for woody type w**ds and usually non-toxic for animals if left for 4 days after use. Tempra is in stock and used for the dreaded Nutgrass while Metsulfuron is used for the eradication of Singapore Daisy. Kikuya grass seed is a wonderful grass being so durable and lush and is also in stock. This is suitable for our Noosa area. Diatomaceous Earth is a natural powdery mined substance from the remains of fossilised remains of diatoms. It is as natural as you can get and can aid as an insecticide. It is excellent for use as a deterrent to mites in chickens as well. Place into the chicken coop is always advisable to control the pesty mites.

Rats are on the move, so rat blocks, rat granules, rat traps and rat cages (big and small) are all available. Kuritch is a repellent used for control of flys with horses, Maliban wash is an excellent wash for the control of fleas, lice and some ticks and mites in dogs. Pestene consists of 50% sulphur and is another option for mite, flea, and lice control. Noosa Rural Produce have an iodine spray which is suitable for most minor animals wounds while Coopex is another product used for the eradication of fleas, ticks, beetles, silverfish, cockroaches, houseflies, carpet beetles, spiders and more.

Noosa Rural Produce sell pullets and now the chicken shortage has reduced, they expect deliveries each fortnight. They are starter pullets and almost ready to lay with some laying eggs while waiting in their cage for collection. Noosa Rural reports that there are so many people who have a very fulfilling hobby of rearing chickens from the unborn still in the egg to adult chickens. Incubators are available for those chicken Mum/Dad's who are in the process of hatching eggs and then heating plates for the new born chicks. Medicated starter and pullet grower crumble and also non-meditated starter or pullet grower mash for thenext stage prior to adults, are available at Noosa Rural Produce. With so many harmful food additives in use, having access to your own homegrown eggs is one way to ensure purity. They are the most wonderful example of natures packaging and are a high source of protein at a relatively low cost compared to other options of protein.

Simone finally won the monthly draw for May. She can now collect a free bag of Wildbird Mix. Another load of starter pullets were collected by customers on Wednesday. New orders are now been taken for the next delivery. Some pullets take longer to start laying than others, although this time a few had layed in the cage while waiting to be taken to their new home.

Stockman and Paddock is always in stock at Noosa Rural Produce and although it is not the cheapest on offer it is moderate in price but high on quality. It is grain free, with 28% protein and18% fat. If fed in combination with fresh meat, dogs are observed to thrive. Noosa Rural Produce stock an excellent fresh meat in 1 kilo packs. Kangaroo mince , kangaroo pieces, chicken mince, beef mince and combo being a combination of the three. Kangaroo tail bones are excellent being a meal on their own and consist of 5 to 6 meaty sections of the tail covered in meat. Kangaroo meat is high in protein and low in fat.
Noosa Rural Produce have a good offering of pet treats, all being authentic and not consisting of a shape made from low grade leftovers in the factory. Kangaroo aortas seem to be manageable for medium dogs, while beef neck tendons last longer for the larger dogs as do the kangaroo tails which are sold in 5 to 6 piece packs. Beef liver treats in $5 packs are always popular, with pigs ears and pigs trotters always in demand. Bully sticks are a new treat and are more expensive although great for teeth cleaning for your pet, kangaroo tendons are great for the small and medium dogs as they are not quiet so intimidating.
