Walala Tjapaltjarri and Michael Eather have been working together for 25 years. With a suitcase full of his own vibrant and striped canvases, Eather recently travelled to Alice Springs. There, Tjapaltjarri reacted with his distinctive Tingari forms creating new zones of focus.

Tall Ship Sirens (series) depicting fishing trophies + adventure stories that sit above the mantelpiece. Three white pearlescent stingray forms stream down the wall. Their slender tails mimic masts of a tall ship. A collection of bright pigment-coloured rocks sit on the shelf …symbolic of the mysterious destination, an unknown prize. Echoing Ulysses in The Odyssey who yearns to hear the songs of the sirens from his passing ship... he makes a contract with himself…to counter the laws of attraction. Perhaps a curious magnet dwells deep within the souls of all travellers?
