Critical Fire Protection & Training

We've spent the week servicing our clients in the midwest region of WA. We started off by conducting 5 yearly hydrant overhauls, hydrostatic testing and fire appliance booster flow testing in Jurien Bay. The remainder of our week was spent in Geraldton conducting fire extinguisher inspections and electrical safety testing. Big thanks to the Jurien Bay VFRS crew for assisting with the testing using their 3.4U appliance.

This international women’s day we acknowledge the invaluable contribution these 2 ladies make to Critical Fire and its success. We are one of a handful of fire protection businesses that has a CEO and a technician who are ladies. We marked the day by our CEO Cassie White giving a powerful presentation on her journey through life and the challenges she has faced and overcome to one of our valued clients.

Our team are assisting in the clean up however we need your help to help them rebuild.

Did you know that on 20th of April, Exmouth will experience a Total Solar Eclipse? Critical Fire has played a small role in ensuring this once in a lifetime event runs smoothly and safely. Critical Fire were selected to provide fire fighting equipment and associated infrastructure, following a public tender process, to support temporary accommodation sites in the town. Works involved:

• Layout design and engineering in accordance with Australian Standards
• Designing, procuring and installing over 70 motion activated solar lights showing paths of travel and fire equipment locations
• Core drilling and installing over 70 steel poles
• Supplying and Installing over 80 fire extinguishers, signage and cover bags
• Dry hire of a fire fighting trailer

2 of our team traveled to the world heritage area late in March and completed the works to a strict deadline, while working in temperatures over 40 degrees. We will return once the eclipse has occurred and reinstate the area back to its original condition.

Once a month we get our team up to Possum Valley Animal Sanctuary to assist with their large list of ongoing maintenance requirements. Friday was a clear typical hot day for Perth this time of year, but it didn't stop the team from rolling their sleeves up. We completed:

- Delivery of Collected donations
- Servicing of the portable fire fighting equipment
- Trenching for water pipes to ensure the residents remain hydrated
- Removal of some vegetation as part of the ongoing bushfire reduction strategy
- Servicing of the recently installed bushfire sprinklers and pumps
- Decking Maintenance to ensure it remains bushfire ready

In addition to our ongoing financial support, these days help out immensely with the ongoing care of over 300 animals as well as our team spending time together and developing a closer relationship.
