On the infield today the Motorsport Australia First Gear Event run by the team from Norwell Motorplex is in full swing!

and his team are introducing some young kids to Motorsport with the help from the team featuring and Noah Byrne

From torrential rain to blistering heat, volunteer officials help keep motorsport competitors out on track in all forms of motorsport.

They do it for the love of the sport, the love of being a part of something and without them the wheels of motorsport wouldn't turn.

So during this National Volunteer Week, make sure you thank a volunteer or make it Your Year to Volunteer if you want to be part of a very special community of motorsport enthusiasts!

The WA Sporting Car Club extends its thanks to all the officials that make the time to make all the events happen at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway.

Have your say on the future of Motorsport in WA

A statewide Motorsport Economic Impact Survey is now open, and it’s important we capture a true picture of what our industry represents.

Motorsport is not just about annual spend, it is built on significant long-term investment.

Race vehicles, engines, trailers, tools, and safety equipment represent a substantial portion of the industry’s economic footprint. These are high-value assets, often purchased over many years, and may not be reflected in a typical 12-month snapshot.

Before completing the survey, please consider the following:

• If your spending has been lower this year, indicate this and use the comments section to explain why (e.g. venue closures, event cancellations)

• Include major purchases (vehicles, engines, safety gear), even if they are not made every year

• If you traveled interstate to compete, include those costs as part of your motorsport spend

• Think beyond race day - include preparation, maintenance, storage, and transport costs

• If you are part of a team or family involvement, consider the broader household contribution

And importantly, use the written response sections to explain anything that has impacted your involvement.

What a day at the Wanneroo Classic

From classic cars on display to relaxed parade laps and nostalgic on track moments, it was all about celebrating motorsport history — no pressure, just great cars and great people at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway.

A huge thank you to our entrants, spectators, volunteers and officials for making the first Wanneroo Classic one to remember.

April has been a busy month for the various Introduction to Motorsport events at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway.

Our Women in Motorsport event on Wednesday, 8 April was a standout success featuring motorkhana. braking drills. big smiles and more with participants showing incredible skill, confidence, and enthusiasm throughout the session.

This event was followed up with a Girls on Track session at the recent WA Sporting Car Club Championship Round 2 event where participants got experience various aspects of a motorsport event from team garages to grid walks and more.

The next "Get on Track" event focussed at young people is Motorsport Australia's First Gear event on Sunday 24 May.

Around the garages at the 2026 WA Sporting Car Club's Round 2 Event last weekend!

They'll go racing again in late June for Round 3. But in the meantime there's plenty of other motorsport action to check out at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway!
