A good day for us across the board with a few milestones to celebrate!
Next week we head to Port Adelaide
Spectator Behaviour
Hi all, RUSA and Onkaparinga Rugby Club are currently cracking down on spectator behaviour at games. Everyone is there to enjoy the game, and we all need to be mindful of the following rules in line with our Code of Conduct, Constitution, RUSA regulations and state law.
Spectators must:
1. Obey any reasonable direction from a ground marshal or RUSA official – if you do not believe the direction is reasonable, please seek a member of the Onkaparinga Committee to discuss,
2. Not abuse, name-call or threaten match officials, players or spectators,
3. Not smoke or v**e within the sports grounds – at Onkas this is anywhere including the carpark, fields and club.
Failure to follow these rules can result in Onkaparinga being sanctioned - another strike could cost us premiership points and a hefty fine. In addition, it may result in you being ejected from the game or receiving bans from attending.
We have one of the most passionate and dedicated fanbases in South Australia and it is awesome to have our Red and Black Army supporting us at all games. But lets just remember that we’re all there to have a good time and abuse will not be tolerated.
If you have any questions about this, please come talk to a member of the committee at training or at a game.

Onkas supports the stand being made by Rugby Union South Australia and the referees. We believe in a safe environment for players, officials and spectators alike.
Across the next few rounds, referees will be taking a firm, consistent approach to managing discipline from the outset of matches. This includes decisive action on team infringements, foul play, and dissent, using all tools available to ensure games are played safely and fairly.
This is a reminder for all players, coaches, team staff and supporters:
- Referee directions must be followed at all times.
- Yellow and red cards are vital tools to ensure compliance and safety.
- Technical zones must remain controlled and limited to approved personnel only.
- Abuse, intimidation, dissent or commentary directed at Match Officials, during or after matches, will not be tolerated and may result in sanctions against individuals or clubs.
- Referees also have the authority to halt play and require the removal of individuals for off-field conduct. We ask our Ground Marshals, coaches and club officials to act early and support referees by addressing poor behaviour before it escalates.
It is everyone's duty to keep rugby the friendly and inclusive sport that separates it from all the others. By being at a rugby club, training, gameday you agree to abide by the code of conduct.
RugbySA is committed to improving the rugby experience for all participants in our game, be that players, match officials or spectators. In this regard, we are taking the opportunity to address some key areas of concern regarding in-game player discipline, sideline behaviour and post-match interactions across our senior competitions.
