Home from holidaying back at Waiheke (Oneroa Bay) and Motuihe. Finally goodbye to the fender step with the new duckboard platform and ladders !! The new BBQ also a great addition for bangers and steaks.
Weather wasn't the greatest, but still lots of time to try out XMAS Kayaks.

As Chritsmas time rolls around, a few more additions for Overdraft, a platform on the back for the kids to get out of the water, the vanity doors back, and a handy little custom lift out step for the forward cabin as a bit high to clamber into at night. Marine Ply and Gorrilla Glue is a wonderful ting.

Back to Waiheke and Motuihe for a quick 5 day holiday getting back just in time before a storm rolls down on New Years Eve
Having had the incredible fortune of traveling to Vanuatu, the tragedy that has beset them is overwhelming. Those who have sailed to, or visited these wonderful islands will understand the depth of sorrow I feel. There is an open friendliness from the wonderful Melanesians that makes any visitor feel welcome, a kind greeting or a smile. I would like to share a short video I took at the Markets in Port Vila, with the rich produce and the colourfully dressed sellers, to only wonder what it is like now. It will only be through the kindness of its Pacific neighbours that any form of recovery will be possible, the mere cost of a cup of coffee could go so far.
Heading to Motuihe Island from Waiheke on a single 2 hour reach, bay to bay. Got to love in when the wind gods smile on you.

Underway on the 28th for the first holiday. Should have been the 27th but blew a 20c hole in the exhaust joint!! Engine bay full of exhaust smoke, oil and water pouring out!! Thought it was all over but a quick trip to Repco and a $13 piece of silicon hose, under way the next day.
