Handbuilt Stone

This one took a while, 80 square meters of porphyry stone which is about six ton had to be carried down steps to the pool area. I removed the old pool coping and replaced it with stone, added a Glasshouse mountains basalt stone seating area and steps.

This is what I’ve been doing for the last couple of months. What a difference 24 ton of basalt, 130 ton of backfill can make.

Here’s a retaining wall I recently built replacing an old timber sleeper wall.

This wall has gone through a few changes. I first rebuilt it in 2020 and I’ve just rebuilt it again after council had to remove part of the wall to install a footpath at Montville.
Please note I didn’t build the crappy wall along the path 😁

This job had major drainage problems and would flood the shed in heavy rain. Sometimes all you need is a simple concrete sleeper wall and proper drainage.
