Building Elite Performance is an exercise scientist-led coaching service, specialising in women's sports performance and well being.
Building Elite Performance is dedicated to providing coaching, resources and support of an elite calibre to women willing to apply themselves. Our mission is to inform and empower women and female athletes to be an advocate for their own needs. Our coaching product is evidence-based and guarantees results in strength, speed, agility and athlete specific performance, but what makes us different is the individual service we provide.

CLOSED INDEFINITELY ||
We are ceasing to operate as of this week.
Our last day as Building Elite, a strength and performance platform for women's sport, will be this Thursday 19th of May, 2022.
Though I announced this privately last week, and to our community prior to that, I thought it was best to leave an imprint here in case someone comes looking for us..
The reality is, the fitness industry is an incredibly hard place to have been over the past 2 years. The Feb floods were the straw that really broke the camel's back.
I've spent 10 years in the industry this year and over that time hundreds of beautiful humans have crossed our path. If thats you - thank you. It's been the biggest honour to have coached and supported your journey, and such a privilege to have heard your story and earnt your trust.
I'm off for a huge break for my mental health, to see some more sunsets from outside and to finish my masters of Exercise Physiology.

Its the little things, beyond just a personalised program that counts when we look at performance..
It's feeling comfortable to come as you are.
It's being welcomed by your name.
It's in the language both you AND I use from the minute you walk in the gym door..
Its feeling like a person, not just a number.
It's knowing someone has your back.
And it's in *knowing* you are capable of whatever comes your way.
We pride ourselves on offering not just a great program and movement correction, but a space where you are seen as more than just a number and are capable of more than what you think.

We're now onto week 2 of preseason for football and netball π€ΎββοΈ
A 10 week program working on fundamentals of strength, conditioning and change of direction to ensure a strong, speedy return for our field and court athletes.
We've also teed up weekly challenges on recovery for our women, because if they don't know how important recovering is to adaptation, they will very soon!

It's been some time since I showed my own face here:
I'm Alesha - I'm the founder of Building Elite. I'm also an exercise scientist and an S&C coach with 9 years experience across a variety of sports and levels (including being apart of the team of coaches that took the U23 Qld women's softballers to a Nationals win!)
My mission through Building Elite Performance is to make high performance coaching accessible, so we can break the cycle of athletes, particularly women, with limited movement and high rates of injury, who are overworked and don't feel heard.
Building Elite will continue to promote a holistic approach to coaching, where we encouraging a balance in lifestyle, stress and training to keep you performing to your version of ELITE.
We are searching for a strength and conditioning coach or sports scientist to join our team at Building Elite Performance!

The Opportunity:
The coaching role is for our evening sessions to be covered (Tues & Thurs non-negotiable).
General scope of clients is community to national level female athletes across a variety of sports.
Potential to use our private studio for one on one coaching, prioritising our group training sessions, though.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASCA Level 1 and/or
- Bachelor of Exercise & Sports Science
- First Aid & CPR
- Blue Card (or able to obtain prior to starting)
Ideal interests in women's sport, female-specific training and growth as a sole contractor.
This is a contractor position, therefore you will be required to provide a copy of your PL/PI insurance and qualifications.

Do you have or coach young girls?
Do you understand the physiology of what happens when puberty strikes?
It's not all peak height velocity and mood swings - there are significant considerations for our young women and with the massive drop out rates of girls from sport, we all need an education on what's happening and why!

In my near-decade of coaching, I have heard women talk about their cycle and periods in all forms of ways - calling it disgusting and gross and wishing it away. But as we begin to fill the female-shaped gap in sports science, we begin to understand the cyclic nature of how to achieve our peak performance USING our cycle.
I hope this will be an informative read and open a new realm of discussions.
