We have done plenty of servicing and repairs at Monty’s storage in Jandabup over the years so i thought i’d share what may be one of our last, because at the end of June, Monty will be closing his gate at 5pm sharp for the last time .
There’s still a lot of caravans and trailers remaining onsite & with only a few weeks to go it’s bound to be a hive of activity.

Yet another crossmember replacement completed and good to go.
We seem to be doing an ever increasing number of these on a wide variety of trailer sizes.
Cleaning out the crossmember drain holes periodically is a good idea as they easily become clogged with sand & w**d, trapping water inside creating the perfect environment for corrosion.

Not surprisingly, lack of maintenance is the main reason for wheel bearing failure.
If you’re planning on a big road trip with your camper or boat trailer this summer, or just chucking the tinny in the river, it pays to ensure your trailer is up to the job.
We carry a large range of parts so can often fix issues on the spot without the inconvenience of return visits and extra costs.
We still have some limited availability prior to Xmas so book your service today!.

The cost difference between standard and marine bearing seals is a few dollars.
But having a bearing fail, possibly losing a wheel, putting yourself and other road users at risk, and causing major damage can cost $$$, not to mention the inconvenience.
The bearings pictured are less than 2 years old and were a catastrophe waiting to happen.
Unfortunately some boat trailer manufacturers still persist in fitting standard seals from new.
When buying a trailer always ask if it’s fitted with marine seals.
It may save you a major headache and $$$

Good example of the need for regular & close inspection of your boat trailer chassis.
Despite initially looking like a bit of surface rust, the “hammer test” quickly revealed the extent of corrosion..
Without good drainage, chassis components will get clogged with sand and other debris, trapping water & creating a perfect environment for corrosion.
