One week to go and we are up. A once only concert with a full band at the MEMO Music Hall St Kilda, lFriday April 17th launching the single " Still Here By my Side". After that, given the fuel crisis I'm not sure what happens, but in any event I won't be performing until atleast mid June. Get on it peeps it'll be great to see you.
Im astounded at how the Lake Bolac Eel Festival, although small, still manages to occur every two years and generate such a warm, kind and generous community spirit for all those who attend. This song landed on the weekend, full clip is on YouTube.

Blowin a gale here today but we're set for eel fest tomorrow. Don't let the weather put you off ! - the wind will drop to between 7 and 20kmh tomorrow and we call that a calm day out here. Still, bring your possum skin cloak if you've got one.
2 more sleeps and we are into Kuyang Lapakira (plenty eels) -the Lake Bolac Eel Festival. This little festival started in 2005 after we walked from the mouth of the Hopkins River at Warrnambool following the river and the salt creek all the way to Lake Bolac. It took us 8 days. But what a joy and a vindication it was to walk in solidarity through ancestral country as if we were on our way to the eel harvest gatherings that occurred annually at Bulok ( Lake Bolac) in pre colonial times. And that's the precedent we acknowledge and why we gather still. This is a teaser of my new single- Still Here By My Side- which is due to land on Friday. Myself accompanied by Craig Kelly will give it its first live run on Saturday March 28th at the eelfestival, .eelfestival.org.au, ,

With the heat rising inland and midnight oil songs that have been rotating through my head for several days now ( vale Rob RIP, 🙏you and your band have left us with more than enough to keep us going for decades ) I dashed south to the coast and sought relief with a sacramental dip in the southern ocean. With an off shore breeze it was brisk but oh so refreshing a release. Stay cool all.
