When I fist wrote Come Let Go, it was a celebration of unity. There was a real acceleration at the time in people’s passion for the planet and there was some great stuff happening around the world. Come, let go and let’s stand together for change was the vibe. Hard to believe 20 years has passed, nice to see people still standing together today in the crazy times we find ourselves in. There’s something about the medicine of music that seems to be able give us glimpses of being able to access the spirit world in various ways. This is something ancient within our existence that words can’t really describe. Being a host for this kind of activity or being part of people’s connection to spirit is the most special part of what I do.

I wrote Let Me Be in late 2001 when the world was feeling fractured after the world trade centre incident in NYC. I was in Canada at the time and I’d just bought my first Weissenborn slide guitar from a beautiful luthier on Vancouver Island named Neil Russell. The fear that was being spread throughout the world at this time was huge and it seemed to be everywhere.

Time has flown and the world is still mad in so many ways, but still it’s a magical planet, with many pockets to escape the madness. This song has always been a bubble of joy, simple and honest. I still love seeing the smiles it brings… LET ME BE
