Following her long and tedious journey across the sea from the UK, Ellen has finally arrived on the shelves of the Whitehorse/Manningham Library. Go forth and borrow!

📚 Come join me at Nunawading Library!

On 4 February 2026 (10.30–11.30am), I’ll be at Whitehorse Municipal Library, Nunawading, talking about the long-debated relationship between Charles Dickens and Ellen Ternan.

For nearly a century, their relationship has been shrouded in scandal and widely assumed to be a secret love affair. But what if that assumption is wrong? I’ll be exploring a question no biographer has dared to ask — could Ellen Ternan have been Dickens’s daughter? And how this story became so entrenched despite the absence of any irrefutable evidence.

🎟️ Entry is free, but bookings are advised. I’d love to see you there.
