This just isn't a pair of socks. It's an opportunity for a homeless person to keep their feet warm, dry and healthy.

This National Volunteer Week, I want to give a special shout out to the incredible volunteers at Footscape.

Through their volunteer podiatry services, they’re helping some of our most vulnerable community members access vital footwear, foot care, support and dignity - care that can make a real difference to someone’s health, mobility and wellbeing.

Volunteers are the backbone of so many organisations across Melbourne, and is a powerful example of the compassion, expertise and generosity that exists in our community.

Thank you to every volunteer who gives their time to support others. Your work matters, and our community is stronger because of you.

Small charities such as Footscape are heavily reliant upon the unselfishness and dedication of volunteers. In this national volunteer week Footscape is very grateful to our volunteers for helping deliver our projects and activities assisting disadvantaged persons encountering foot problems.

A huge thank you to The Social Education Group for delivering 200 foot care kits. This incredible organisation offers team-building sessions for corporate and school groups, highlighting the social challenges faced by Australian communities and providing practical ways to get involved in community solutions.

These wonderful kits were assembled by the students at Brighton Grammar School who packed everything with care.
