Staying in your comfort zone will keep you safe but it'll never really help you to discover what you're really capable of. Yet stepping outside your comfort zone can be really uncomfortable. What if we just focused on expanding our comfort zone? Small step by small step, action by action, overcoming one fear at a time .... until you're playing on a whole new playing field. Sounds good doesn't it?

I caught myself saying "TRYING" quite a bit last year, as in "I'm trying to lose weight", "I'm trying to get fit", "I'm trying to cut back on the coffee" etc.. BUT "trying" to do something is such a cop-out, I mean you're not really DOING it if you're only trying, you've given yourself a nice little opt-out if you fail, and are you even really committed?.... This year, I am eliminating THAT word from my vocab in favour of "DOING" (or insert any action verb here that means you ARE, you're DOING it, you're CREATING it...etc). The point of difference is in the EMPOWERMENT, the ACTION, the BELIEF behind the words. Trying doesn't mean you're succeeding, it also doesn't indicate you're committed to the result. For me it just has become a 'cop-out' phase I use when I'm not really convinced or not really believing my own words.
I hope these thoughts help you in some small way to go after your GOALS this year!

How are those new year resolutions going? are you nailing it or failing it? I'm on week 6 of my own non-negotiable 90 day challenge to lose weight and get healthier, cut out alcohol and generally feel amazing. I'm doing really well but there are temptations out there... Fat Bastard Malbec, I'm looking at you (slurp). What do you do when motivation fails? Commit, commit, commit! Willpower will come and go, it's all about forming new habits :)
