Dear Friends,

On January 12th, Fr Huy Nguyen and I were honoured to begin our journey as your new diocesan priests. As we step into this new chapter, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Franciscan Friars for their unwavering dedication, generous service, and faithful leadership throughout those many years. Springvale Parish is blessed with three vibrant communities—St Joseph’s C

Today’s Gospel, Matthew 9:36–10:8, reminds us of the deep compassion of Jesus. When He looked upon the crowds, He did not see strangers or burdens—He saw people who were tired, lost, hurting, and searching for hope. His heart was moved with mercy because they were “like sheep without a shepherd.”

Jesus then tells His disciples:

“The harvest is rich, but the labourers are few.”

The harvest represents the many souls who are longing for love, kindness, guidance, and the presence of God. The labourers are those willing to answer God’s call—not just priests and religious, but ordinary people like you and me.

In today’s world, there are countless opportunities to be a labourer in God’s harvest:

* Offering a listening ear to someone who is grieving.
* Visiting the lonely or forgotten.
* Showing kindness to a stranger.
* Praying for those who are suffering.
* Sharing our faith through our actions.

Jesus first asks us to pray for labourers, because every vocation and every act of service begins with God. Then He sends His disciples out to heal, comfort, and proclaim the Good News freely, reminding them:

“You received without charge, give without charge.”

For me, this Gospel is a gentle challenge: Am I willing to be one of the labourers? Am I responding to the needs I see around me with the compassion of Christ, or am I walking past them?

As someone who lost her father at a young age and has a heart for supporting others through grief and hardship, this Gospel speaks powerfully. Sometimes being a labourer is not about doing extraordinary things—it is about allowing our own experiences of loss, love, and faith to become a source of comfort for others.

Springvale Parish wishes everyone a blessed week.
God bless one and all ♥️

Prayer for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus,
we come before You with humble and grateful hearts.

Heart of infinite love, mercy, and compassion,
draw us closer to You each day.
Teach us to love as You love,
to forgive as You forgive,
and to serve others with kindness and humility.

When we are burdened by sorrow, be our comfort.
When we are weak, be our strength.
When we are lost, guide us back to Your loving embrace.

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
heal the wounds of our hearts,
bring peace to our families,
hope to the suffering,
and unity to our communities.

May Your burning love inspire us to live faithfully,
trust completely in Your Divine Mercy,
and become instruments of Your peace in the world.

We consecrate ourselves, our loved ones,
and our parish to Your Most Sacred Heart.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Amen.

❤️ Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You. ❤️

Corpus Christi Sunday
(The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ)

Today, the Church celebrates Corpus Christi, a beautiful feast dedicated to the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

On the night before He died, Jesus gave us the gift of Himself, saying, “This is My Body… This is My Blood.” Through the Holy Mass, Christ continues to nourish us with His Body and Blood, strengthening us in faith, hope, and love.

Corpus Christi reminds us that the Eucharist is not simply a symbol, but Jesus truly present among us—walking with us, comforting us, and drawing us closer to Him. As we receive Holy Communion, we are united not only with Christ but also with one another as His Church.

May this special feast inspire us to deepen our love for the Eucharist, attend Mass faithfully, spend time in adoration, and live as witnesses of Christ’s love in our families and communities.

Prayer for Corpus Christi

Lord Jesus Christ,
in the Most Holy Eucharist, You remain with us always.

We thank You for the gift of Your Body and Blood,
offered for our salvation and nourishment.

Deepen our faith in Your Real Presence,
strengthen our love for You,
and help us to recognise You in those we meet each day.

May the Eucharist be the source of our strength,
the centre of our parish life,
and the bond that unites us in charity and peace.

Bless the parish communities of St Joseph’s and St Mark’s.
Draw us ever closer to Your Sacred Heart,
and make us faithful disciples who bring Your light to the world.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever.” — John 6:51

Happy Feast of Corpus Christi!
May Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament bless you and your families abundantly. 🙏🏻✝️🤍
