‘Moments’ is my latest release, a collection of miniature songs. They’re fragments, snapshots and ultimately designed to be played by you. I’ve been teaching for around 15 years, and often encounter students who love neoclassical, minimalist music, but don’t know where to begin.

I’ve written these pieces with those players in mind. They’re designed for beginners, often the whole piece will stay in one spot on the keyboard, and use texture and repeated patterns to build a story.

In a world of polish and AI flooding our feeds, I decided to draw the album art over dinner one night, and took photos of it in the park while S played beside me. These pieces exist in a similar space: simple & unadorned.

These songs are all out in the world now, with sheet music to go with them. They’re around grade 1 level, so if you’d like me to send you the sheet music leave a comment or send me a message.

This film - TIBER - is about life and memory, loss, love, art, reckoning. Filmed in the crackling heat of an Italian summer.

It’s so special when you get to work on projects that speak directly to you. To work with a director who sees the same sky, and storm on the horizon. It makes scoring feel effortless, like a great reach into a wide unknown.

To have such a beautiful, moving film as my debut feature narrative has been a total honour, and a gift. Tiber is a shimmering work, moving, gentle, transcendent.

Thanks to the vision of writer/director Dominic Allen and his team, and thanks to Adelaide film festival, TIBER screened at Marché du Film at Cannes Film Festival last week !! 🕊️

DUST is my second studio album, out now, and I’m so happy to be able to share it with you.

It’s the cosmic dust. And the dust on the windows of the studio where I wrote these songs. It’s the very big things, and how we hold them simply & unadorned in the everyday.

My latest single :: ‘Life Has Not Forgotten You’ is one of my favourite songs & the last one before the whole album (out tomorrow!!!)

It was a very particular feeling I was trying to capture in this song. That fine, invisible spool of thread that’s drawn out of your heart and feels like hope.

For me, it’s about how painful it can be when life keeps getting bigger around grief, how ultimately we have to move on. And that as we do, it brings a whole new, stinging, frosty, essential kind of pain, one that makes way for new growth.

It’s hope after loss, and equally, a deep knowing that Life will never, ever forget you. 🪽

Iceland, the quiet hush of snow. This place of extremes. Sunset through the studio window, Saskia asleep on the couch while I record, this beautiful piano, light on water. A mountain standing guard.

To be in this country is to remember the other world in this world.

It’s also a concert, rehearsals, filming, writing, recording. Too much snow for a pram so using a sled. Making pasta, peas & pesto for dinner, editing a new project at night. The constant, beautiful push-pull: how to be a mother and a musician?
