๐ŸŒ™ Tonight MARS Gallery welcomed guests for their latest exhibit, โ€œPolaroid, Polaroid, Polaroidโ€.

The exhibition brought together many original Polaroid photographs, each capturing a unique moment, perspective or story. It was wonderful to see everyone exploring the collection, connecting with one another and supporting a cause that makes a real difference in our community.

Every Polaroid purchased helps support people living with HIV experiencing financial hardship through LPVโ€™s FLIP Fund.

A special thank you to MARS Gallery, the contributing artists, organisers, volunteers and everyone who made the event such a success. Your generosity, creativity and community spirit were on full display.

If you were unable to make it to the opening but would like to donate, head here ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://forms.lpv.org.au/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=1

๐Ÿ’™ Asking for help can sometimes feel awkward. As an organisation run by people living with HIV, we get it.

But the truth is, Living Positive Victoria wouldnโ€™t be where it is today without the support of our community. From our incredible volunteers to our generous donors, itโ€™s people like you who help keep us going.

As we approach the end of the financial year, weโ€™re asking for your support. If youโ€™re in a position to do so, a tax-deductible donation of $2 or more can help someone living with HIV access urgent support and care through our FLIP Fund.

The FLIP Fund provides emergency financial assistance to people living with HIV who are experiencing financial hardship, helping them access essential items and services when they need them most.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ This week, we were extraordinarily proud to launch an Australian-first report exploring the experiences of trans and gender diverse people living with HIV in Victoria.

Commissioned by Living Positive Victoria and developed in partnership with the Australian Research Centre in S*x, Health and Society , Transgender Victoria and Thorne Harbour Health , the study explores experiences of healthcare, support services, social connection, identity and belonging.

The findings provide valuable insights that can help shape more inclusive clinical services, support programs and future research.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their experiences and expertise to this important project. Together, we can build services and communities where trans and gender diverse people living with HIV feel seen, supported and connected.

You can access the report by heading to ๐Ÿ‘‰ lpv.org.au/reports

๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿผ Today is HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day.

We honour and celebrate the resilience, strength and contributions of long-term survivors living with HIV.

Long-term survivors have lived through profound change. From the uncertainty of the early years of the epidemic to the advances in treatment we have today, their experiences, advocacy and leadership have shaped the HIV response and strengthened our communities.

Today is an opportunity to recognise those who have navigated decades of stigma, loss, resilience and survival, while acknowledging the unique challenges many long-term survivors continue to face.

To all long-term survivors: thank you for your courage, your wisdom and your ongoing contribution to our community. Your stories matter, and your legacy continues to make a difference. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธโšง๏ธ Join Living Positive Victoria and Latrobe University as we report findings from our Australian-first study into the experiences of trans and gender diverse people living with HIV.

In an Australian first, this qualitative study investigated the experiences of trans and gender diverse people living with HIV, focusing on Victoria. It included experiences of navigating health and support services, social connection, identity, and belonging. The study was a joint project between the Australian Research Centre in S*x, Health and Society (La Trobe University) , Living Positive Victoria, Transgender Victoria and Equinox (Thorne Harbour Health). Its findings and recommendations should be used to improve clinical and support services, research, and program development for trans and gender diverse people living with HIV.

LPV is All In on reconciliation.

Today we acknowledge the ancient history and cultures of the lands where we live and work, as well as the violent recent history and continued discrimination experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
We acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are disproportionately affected by HIV and we remain steadfast in our commitment to closing this gap.

In December last year, we released the first part of our Reconciliation Action Plan (Reflect) and have been meeting regularly with community members to listen, learn and discuss our objectives.
You can read our RAP on the โ€˜Reportsโ€™ section of our website ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://lpv.org.au/reports-and-resources/reports-and-publications/reconciliation-action-plan/
