A two-stage paint correction followed by applying Modesta BC-05 on a Mini Clubman John Cooper Works. Bringing out the car’s best appearance while enhancing its protection. Here’s a breakdown of how this process went and what to expect:

Two-Stage Paint Correction Process:

Stage 1: Heavy Compounding

Goal: To remove deeper imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and water spots.
Tools: Dual-action (DA) polisher with a cutting compound and a cutting pad (typically a wool pad).
Procedure: This stage will be focused on cutting and leveling the paint’s surface, removing deeper defects. It’s important to work in small sections to maintain control over heat and compound residue, ensuring a smooth, even finish. The goal is to get as many imperfections out as possible.

Stage 2: Polishing

Goal: To refine the surface and bring out the gloss by removing the micro-marring left from the cutting phase.
Tools: Dual-action polisher with a polishing compound and a finishing pad (usually a foam pad).
Procedure: The second stage focuses on correcting any haze or fine swirl marks left from the cutting stage. The polishing compound will refine the surface, enhancing the gloss and clarity of the paint. The key here is to ensure the surface becomes as smooth as possible, providing a great base for the protective coating.

With all Modesta coatings, installation is very meticulous and requires lots of attention, including steps such as pre-baking, Primer application (P-01A), IR curing, etc.

The satisfaction of seeing the final results after all that hard work is something else entirely.
