Hello church!

This Sunday, we're continuing our series looking at the "Life of David" as we come to one of the most famous stories in the Bible — David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17). There's more to this story than you might think, and we can't wait to dig into it together.

A quick heads up for the LifeSpring men — we're taking a week off this Sunday due to unforeseen circumstances. We'll be back the following week (5 July) with our next session: Delighting in God. Thanks for your understanding!

Join us this Sunday!

We're continuing our Life of David series with a message titled — "Do You See What God Sees?" from 1 Samuel 16. It's our first look at David, and it's a passage that will challenge the way you see yourself and others.

Then, straight after church at 2pm, we're launching into our month of Men's Ministry events! We'll be diving into the topic of intergenerational relationships. Men of all ages are welcome!

This Sunday, we've got a very special guest joining us — Mark Syn, the International Director of Pioneers Missions Organisation, is coming to open up God's Word with us for the very first time!

We've shared a family photo of Mark from a few years back. Take a close look — you might spot some familiar faces in there! 👀

Mark will be bringing a message on the seasons God takes us through to build foundations for life and ministry, all through the lens of David's life. It's a really timely word as we continue working our way through 1 and 2 Samuel together.

📖 This Sunday at 11am — join us as Rev. Jono continues our series on The Life of David!

We'll be diving into Saul's Rise and Fall from 1 Samuel 9–15. It's a powerful part of the Bible full of lessons about obedience and disobedience, humility and pride, and God's sovereignty through it all — one you won't want to miss.

We'd love for you to read through 1 Samuel 9–15 before Sunday, and don't forget to bring your Bible along!

Heya church!

Just a quick reminder that we're going to be gathering tonight in the Cantonese Hall to pray as a church family. We'll be spending most of our time reflecting on Paul's most wonderful prayer in Ephesians 3:14-21. Using it as a guide to help us to pray personally, to pray for one another, to pray for the church and to pray for our world!

Hope you can join us as we speak to our Father in heaven as His children!

We're so glad to have Rev. Jono back from holidays and in the pulpit this week! He'll be preaching from 1 Samuel 8: "Give us a King!" — a really powerful passage we're looking forward to digging into together.

We know it’s early — but here’s a little preview of what’s coming up over the next couple of Sundays while Rev. Jono and his family are away. We’re so excited and thankful for the guest speakers who’ll be opening God’s Word for us!

📍 Sunday 17 May — Daniel Kong
Daniel is the current AFES staff team leader at Deakin Uni Burwood, and this will be the 3rd time he’s come to speak at LifeSpring!

📍 Sunday 24 May — Christian Pakpahan
Christian is the Associate Pastor at Rock City Church (our neighbours at the Nunawading Community Hub). This will be the first time Christian is preaching to us, though their senior pastor, Ps. Ferdy has visited us several times before!

We’d love to encourage you to come along, welcome them warmly, and sit under God’s Word together over these next two Sundays.

So, this Sunday, we're into week 2 of our series looking at the life of David through the books of 1 and 2 Samuel.

As mentioned on Sunday, it's going to be a little bit until we reach David. This Sunday, we're going to be looking at the call of God on the prophet Samuel's life (the one who would go on to anoint David as King). As God breaks His silence to usher in a new era in the nation of Israel.

Join us on Sunday at 11am as we hear God speak to us in His Word. Via this story in which God speaks to Samuel.

Oh, and don't forget about the CCCV members forum that's happening straight after service in our church foyer. A great chance to meet the candidates that you'll be voting for at the upcoming AGM. As well as to ask any questions about church matters that you may have!
