We'll be having a cosy chat about The Greens vision for a sustainable and socially just Northern Beaches, complete with a tasty high tea. Learn more about our vision and goals, as well as help us raise funds for our Local Government campaign.

The Northern Beaches is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. And those beaches are home to incredible marine life - from giant cuttlefish to sea dragons, to blue gropers and green sea turtles. Yet our precious marine life is facing many threats - from shark nets, overfishing, pollution and climate change.

We’re bringing together a group of ocean warriors for a fun, free and family-friendly local event celebrating the magic of our Northern Beaches and what we can all do to protect it.

Rock for the Ocean is hosted by Greens MP and former Chair of Sea Shepherd Australia, Cate Faehrmann, who will be joined by inspirational locals doing extraordinary things to protect our oceans:

Northern Beaches Envirolink Inc invite you to "Rock for Lizard Rock 2" an afternoon of family friendly activities and live music.
We're hosting a family friend afternoon to keep the pressure on the State Government to protect the bushland at Lizard Rock.

We'll be serenaded by live music while we work together as a community on a fun project to send the message to Minister Scully we want to protect the wildlife at Lizard Rock. We've got a target of mailing 1,000 paper lizards to Minister Scully, so his staff can't open his mail box without receiving a new one. Bring along your family and friends to help us make more lizards.

What to bring:
- Picnic blanket or deck chair to listen to music
- Our volunteers will bring snacks but feel free to bring some along to share
- Our volunteers will bring stationary (scissors, textas) but feel free to also bring some along to make sure we have enough!

I'm really excited by our plans for creating a circular economy hub, start rolling out FOGO, tackling problem wastes, and being leaders in the community and to other levels of Government for action to eliminate waste and better recycle end of life products.

THE GIANTS explores the intertwined fates of trees and humans in this cinematic portrait of environmental folk hero and gay icon Bob Brown who took green politics to the centre of power. From a seedling to forest elder: the film is a masterclass that draws on Bob’s 50 years of inspiring activism, from the Franklin campaign for Tasmania’s last wild river, to today’s battle for the Tarkine rainforest. Told in Bob’s own words, his story is interwoven with the extraordinary life cycle of Australia’s giant trees, brought to the screen with stunning cinematography and immersive animated forest landscapes.
