As there is an increased number of schools holding their balls the first week of February and it would be wise to get in early for your fitting appointment to ensure that you have choice from the full range as we are expecting it get very hectic with the last minute planners.

Should you add a sport coat or blazer to compliment your outfit?

The difference between a sport coat or blazer comes down to patterns, buttons, and fabric. A sport coat is a patterned jacket that coordinates with trousers that are not made of the same fabric or have the same pattern. A blazer is a solid color jacket with contrasting (often metal) buttons.

Blazers have a looser fit compared to suit jackets, they are also not as structured, especially in the shoulder area. Your sport coat should always fit loose enough to allow for layering underneath.

Either of these options is perfect for the cooler weather that we are experiencing at this time of the year.

Bousfields Menswear on Fremantle's High Street has been clothing generations of families for 121 years and, for current owner Bruce Haskell, the shop floor is all he has ever known. Bruce is looking forward to retirement and have more free time than he knows what to do with!

Our Christmas Opening Hours...

We will be working our normal trading hours of 9am to 4pm through until Friday, December 23rd.

We will be closed on Christmas Eve, Saturday 24th.

Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th are public holidays and we will be closed, enjoying the summer sunshine and putting our feet up!

We are open by appointment only on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th December 2022.

Friday 30th and Saturday 31st December we will be closed.

What is Cocktail attire?

Cocktail attire for men is has no strict definition, typically a dress code reserved specifically for festive occasions, it’s less formal than black tie and much more fashion-forward than a simple business suit.

With the festive season upon us, we have many requests for cocktail attire, where it is typically safe to opt for a dark suit, light shirt, rich tie, a pocket square, and dark, well-shined shoes.

You should avoid wearing a tuxedo to an event with a cocktail attire dress code, this is overkill and you will look out of place. However, you can wear a smoking jacket, we have some of these available for hire.

Typically, you do not have to wear a suit for cocktail attire, but you will look your best in one!

Another option is for an odd jacket and trousers combination, for instance, a blue sports jacket with grey trousers paired with a nice light blue shirt will look smashing. Add a dark tie and a pair of dark brown shoes to complete your look. This look is perfect for the more informal cocktail event, otherwise your best option for an evening event is a dark suit in either navy or charcoal.

We are located right on the corner of Forrest Street and Pinjarra Road, where the Pinjarra Road roadworks start. It has been making things a little difficult for us with traffic flow etc.

We are located right behind Bouvard Settlements which is next to the Coastal Times and across from the Cheesecake shop.

We have ample parking out the front of Bouvard Settlements - Yes - you can park there for us!
