Cuando la herencia se teje.
When arrived at our family’s taller in Lima, she didn’t just observe, she paid attention. To the heart-shaped llavero swaying from a machine, made from scraps, never thrown away. To the sunlight over a small courtyard where Lima’s fog sometimes lifts.
She saw what we sometimes forget to see.
That kind of attention is rare. And we are so grateful it found us.
is a project born out of a deep belief that the hands behind the craft deserve as much attention as the craft itself. Her book documents workshops and people who keep Latin American craft alive — and the first chapter is our family’s story. From my grandmother’s hands to the workshop that stands today, to the brand we’re still building. We are honored to be its beginning.
The book is available now through .
Photography by , who walked into our workshop and somehow already knew where the light lived.

Some things are passed down before they’re even understood.
Our grandmother Lucía learned to knit in a convent, on manual machines, the same kind we still use today. That knowledge moved quietly through generations, from her hands to a family workshop, and eventually, to us.
Genes was built on that foundation.
We’ve spent this time doing what she taught us to do: working slowly, working intentionally. Our new collection is taking shape: a mix of timeless basics built to last a lifetime (and maybe longer) and versatile statement pieces that are worth holding onto. We can’t wait to show you.
To everyone who came to the sample sale, or who has reached out these past few weeks, thank you! You almost cleared our archive. Almost. A few pieces are still available if something has been on your mind.
More soon 🫰🏻
