Last Friday, ALA hosted its third annual Golf Day & Charity Event at Launceston Golf Club, raising funds for Speak Up! Stay Chatty.
This year was our biggest yet, with a record 25 teams competing on the day! It was fantastic to see our community come together in support of such a great cause. We’re proud to support the important work of Speak Up! Stay Chatty in raising awareness and encouraging open conversations around mental health.
A big thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and supported the day, including our incredible sponsors.

Reflecting on last year & looking ahead
Last year, our team was proud to support Cancer Council and Movember, two charities doing incredible work in cancer awareness, research, and men’s health.
Across the year we got involved in a range of fundraising initiatives — from our ALA Golf Day, Easter raffle and morning teas, to attending a gala ball and taking on the Movember challenge (including several staff walking 60km in one day!).
Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our team and wider community, we’re proud to share that we raised over $16,000 for these causes.
As we move into this year, we’re excited to announce our new charity partner: Speak Up! Stay Chatty.
Mental health is an issue that affects so many, and we’re passionate about supporting organisations that encourage open conversations, connection, and early support.
We’re looking forward to getting involved in initiatives like Shorts Day, the Speak Up! Stay Chatty Ball, ALA Golf Day and more throughout the year — and sharing the journey with you along the way.
Here’s to another year of giving back and making a meaningful impact.

Congratulations to the Tam O’Shanter Golf & Community Club for receiving the Australia Day Community Event of the Year. Supporting our local communities is important to us, and we are pleased to have been able to help.
Congratulations Tam O’Shanter Golf & Community Club
We were very chuffed to win the Australia Day George Town Council “Community Event of the Year” with our Jazz by the Sea event. Of course we couldn’t have done that without the help year after year of our volunteers who organise, run, cook, make salads and so on for this annual event. Great work everyone! Thanks also to the fabulous musicians of St Joes Big Band and our past Sponsors and our current Sponsor ALA partners in Launceston who support the event, and of course a big thank you to our Community who come out support our event – it wouldn’t happen without you!
