The Northern Suburbs community are warmly invited to celebrate the people, partnerships and local action groups making a difference across our Northern Suburbs community here in Launceston.
This Community Champions Celebration brings together residents, community leaders, schools, neighbourhood houses, community service organisations and local businesses to recognise those strengthening our communities.
Join us as we shine a light on the positive work happening across Rocherlea, Mayfield, Newnham, Mowbray, Invermay, Ravenswood and Waverley - and the local people bringing ideas to life.

Community Champions is pleased to provide first aid training to the Northern suburbs Community.
There is only 20 spots available so get in fast:
15 spots for community members (Free)
5 spots for those from community services staff (Subsided)

The training is delivered by Kim Johnson First Aid and sponsors and supported by Project North and Starting Point Neighbourhood House.
The first round of training can be completed either online prior to the event or in your own time leading up to the full day - face to face training which will happen Friday 10 July.
However, if you would like support to complete the online component, we have a supported session that has been arranged at Starting Point Neighbourhood House on the 3 July between 9:30am - 12:30pm.
Venue: Starting Point Neighbourhood House, 6 Prossers Forest Rd, Ravenswood
Dates and times: Friday 3 July, for those needing help to complete the pre online component (9:30am - 12:30pm)
Date and times: Friday 10 July - Full day face to face
NOTE: Training is free for community members but is only subsidised for those working in a community service ($100pp).

Our Sow it Begins project (with Project North and CHL) now has 18 garden starter kits (garden bed, soil, seedlings, trowel, and instructions) available for community members who reside in the Northern Suburbs – for just $50. The beds have been made by MACS and are in kit form ready to assemble.
