Fascia: your body’s stretchy secret network. When it’s tight, everything feels stiff - from muscles to joints.
At your physio appointment, we use hands-on fascial techniques - gentle stretches, sustained pressure, and targeted guidance - to encourage tissues to glide more freely ✋.
You can help at home too: move regularly, foam roll or self-massage, and stay hydrated!
It’s not magic and results aren’t instant (well not usually) but these steps can help support your body’s natural ability to move more comfortably.
Call us on 9729 7777 to explore safe ways to keep your fascia feeling flexible and supported with one of our physiotherapists here at Physio Elements.

Healing takes time, and it’s rarely a straight line. Some days feel like progress, others feel slower - but every step still counts.
The tricky part? Knowing which wins to go for. Do you push a little more with exercise today 🏋️, or is it a day for rest 🛌? Do you strengthen one muscle to rest another, or focus on releasing tension elsewhere?
That’s where guidance matters. The right approach at the right time can make all the difference.
Call us on 9729 7777 to make an appointment at Physio Elements and we’ll help you find the wins that move you forward.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums out there 💐
Thank you for everything you do — the love, strength, and care never go unnoticed. Today is all about you 🤍
Being a mum means juggling so much - lifting, bending, running after little ones, and somehow finding time for yourself. Your body works hard, and it deserves a little love back.
Today is the perfect reminder to pause, stretch, breathe, and move in ways that feel good. Even small moments of care for your back, shoulders, or feet make a difference over time. 🧘♀️💆♀️

Exercise of the month: Standing calf raises
Your calves do more work than you think. Every step, every climb, every run.
Rise onto your toes, pause briefly at the top, then lower slowly.
Behind this small movement are two hard-working muscles: the gastrocnemius and the soleus. Together they power push-off when you walk, help stabilise the ankle, and absorb force with every step.
That slow lowering phase is where the magic happens. It loads the Achilles tendon and the plantar fascia – the strong band of tissue under your foot. Controlled loading helps these tissues adapt, which is why calf raises (often performed off a stair) commonly appear in rehabilitation programs for plantar fasciitis.
Do calf raises already feature in your workouts?

Word of the Month: Overuse 📖
It sounds simple. Use something too much.
But in injury science, “overuse” carries more nuance than that.
In physiotherapy, tissue capacity refers to the amount of load a structure such as a tendon, muscle, or bone can tolerate before it becomes irritated or injured.
There is rarely a dramatic moment. No single twist or fall. Just a gradual ache. Morning stiffness. A ni**le that slowly becomes harder to ignore 📈
The encouraging part? The body responds well to progressive loading 💪 When strength, speed, or distance increase in a planned way, tissues adapt and capacity grows.
Physiotherapy focuses on restoring that balance between load and capacity. Targeted strengthening, graded exposure, and thoughtful programming help you build resilience without pushing beyond what your body is ready for.
So overuse is not simply about doing too much.
It is about going beyond your current capacity.

We take a moment to acknowledge their legacy and the lessons of perseverance, strength, and care that continue to inspire us every day.
