Hi Guys, we are planning on starting a monthly catch-up aimed at keeping the "community" in "community theatre". Currently this has no set structure so if there is anything you would like to do as part of it please bring your ideas. We are hoping to have the first one on Friday the 27th March between 6.30 and 7.30 and will likely compromise of performing some short scripted pieces in small groups. This is aimed at older teenagers and adults so if you're not old enough for social media you're not old enough for this. It will be held at a licensed venue so under 18s must be accompanied. We are going to hold this at Hula Bar in the small room opposite the entrance. This is open to the wider community so feel free to share it. We were already stoked that the Hon Melissa Price caught up with us during her recent visit to Karratha, but to have her stand up in the House of Representatives this week to champion our cause was next level!
Melissa highlighted the work we’re doing for the arts right here in Karratha, but more importantly, she brought attention to the challenges we face in finding a permanent home.
It's really inspiring to have our Federal MP advocating for the future of regional theatre on the floor of Parliament. Also shout out to Pilbara for Purpose, East pilbara Youth Advisory Committee and Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation.
