Plane tree Studio is an artisan Studio which produces 100% recycled paper made by hand and adds to the value of that paper by producing hand printed cards, invitations and stationery for sale.

We recently moved to 245 Elizabeth Street and established a modern papermill and printery with a small retail space.
After operating for almost 40 years we are embedded in community and right now we are looking for an energetic person to join our team in the papermaking space.

This person needs to have:
• an interest in small business
• an interest in learning papermaking
• a passion for quality production
• communication and people skills to inspire teamwork
• An interest in supporting vulnerable Tasmanians with a disability to be the best that they can be
• There are no age or gender restrictions
All necessary training will be provided on site.

Introducing two Tassie icons to our Christmas card collection: kunanyi / Mt Wellington and the beloved Hobart rivulet platypus. Printed on handmade paper, these cards celebrate Tasmania’s natural beauty and one of our most unique native animals.

Exciting news! Next weekend we will be at the CUCKoO Artisan Market, alongside some incredible local makers. Our stall will be stocked with our beautiful Christmas range, including new designs. We will also have handmade cards and stationery for all year round. See you there!

Our studio has been busy preparing for Christmas! The Tasmanian leatherwood (Eucryphia lucida) in shades of green celebrate this beautiful native flower.

Our Christmas card wall is stocked! Visit us to browse new designs and classic favourites. Can’t make it into the store? No worries, we’re happy to take orders and arrange a convenient pick-up time, or post them straight to you.
