The Hamilton Fun Run is a Family, community event for all ages! All funds raised going towards the purchase of MRI Scanner at Hamilton Base Hospital.
Hamilton Fun Run is a community fitness/charity event with all proceeds raised going towards the Western District Health Service (WDHS) MRI for U&I Appeal. This is the 13th Fun Run event with a strong focus on promoting exercise, and in turn promoting our mental health. We return to our track from 2019 around Lake Hamilton for the 4.2km and down along the Grange Burn for our 10km and 21km events.

The time has come for the Hamilton Fun Run to take a break from the annual running calendar.
Since 2010, Western District Health Service (WDHS) has been part of the Hamilton Fun Run - working alongside Vitality Health & Fitness to organise, fundraise and promote the event.
Due to increasing costs, reduced grant funding and challenges recruiting committee members and volunteers, we have made the difficult decision not to host the event in 2023 and 2024.
In its 13 year history, the Hamilton Fun Run has raised over $95,000, helping fund an MRI machine, Theatre Steriliser, the Cancer & Dialysis Centre, Grange redevelopments and a new mini bus for our aged care residents. These funds have benefited many vulnerable people in our community and beyond.
Thank you to our incredible volunteers who have assisted with committee and MC duties, registration, track marking and water stations, and to our wonderful sponsors for helping bring the event to life.
Lastly, a big thank you to the hundreds of runners and walkers who stepped up to take part, some returning multiple times – we’ve enjoyed watching your progress over the years.
Although we send this message with heavy hearts, we are leaving the door open for future events. If you are involved in a community group that could take the reins of the Hamilton Fun Run, please contact [email protected] we’d love to hear from you!

Boston Bound
TWO local marathon runners, Hamilton’s Carolyn Van Kalken and Cavendish’s Caroline MacDonald will journey to the United States this week to compete in the famed Boston Marathon after securing their coveted places in the last 12 months with qualifying times that allow them to take a place on the start line.

AFTER bowing-out in the 2022 preliminary finals, Ryan McClure and his Maroons will be looking for a big start to the 2023 South West District ootball League season, when they take on reigning premier, Cavendish, in round one this Saturday
