There’s something pretty special about watching your kids pick up a little of what they’ve seen from you along the way.
Our nearly 18-year-old son has recently started his own side business, SouthAdelaidesolarservices, and it’s been a very proud moment helping him get things off the ground.
I’ve just finished creating a simple one-page website for him, enough to give the business a professional digital presence from the beginning, while still giving him something he can build on as the business grows.
As parents, I think we often underestimate how much our work ethic, ideas and approach to business can rub off on our kids. It’s lovely to see him having a go, building something of his own and taking those first steps.

⚓ A very different website project has just gone live…
When my client first reached out about creating a website dedicated to the history of Reina del Mar, I’ll admit I was a little unsure whether to take the project on.
It wasn’t really the type of website I generally create — but I’m also a bit of a “yes” woman, and I do love a challenge!
And I’m very glad I said yes.
I genuinely loved working on this project. There was a huge amount of history, information and imagery to bring together, and the challenge was turning all of that into a website that was interesting to explore, easy to navigate and did justice to the story of the ship.
When I sent my client the first draft, his response was:
“Wow! At a first glance it has come up even better than I had hoped for.”
And thankfully, he’s just as happy with the finished result!
I have to say, I’m pretty proud of this one too. I love that there is now another little slice of history preserved online for former passengers and crew, their families, maritime enthusiasts and anyone else who happens to discover the story of Reina del Mar.
It was certainly something different for Create & Generate, but sometimes the projects outside your usual box end up being some of the most enjoyable.

Website testing is a tough job… but someone has to do it. 😂🍿
A little while ago, I did some more work on the Scrumptious Bites website, and part of that involved adding Suzanne’s range of gourmet popcorn to the online store.
Obviously, when you work on an online store, you need to make sure everything works properly… right?
So naturally, I placed an order. For testing purposes, of course. 😏
Three different flavours arrived, and I’d actually managed to leave them all unopened until now because I’ve been trying to be “good”.
Well… that all went out the window when I opened the Churro Popcorn.
As you can probably tell from the photo, it’s safe to say it’s a little bit moreish. 😂

A good reminder to check in on the people around us, not just today, but any day.
Sometimes a simple “Are you okay?” can open the door to a conversation someone really needs.

It is so easy to spend too much time thinking about what could go wrong. Whether people will like what you create, whether a new service will work, whether you should invest in your business, post the content, launch the website or finally try the idea you’ve been sitting on.
There will always be a few bees.
But sometimes you have to stop worrying about every possible outcome, back yourself and go after the honey. 💛

There’s something really special about the clients who have been there from the beginning.
The ones who trusted you when your business was still finding its feet, who came back when they needed something else, who referred you to others and who have continued to support what you do year after year.
I’m incredibly grateful that Create & Generate has clients I’ve worked with since the very early days, and many others who have returned as their businesses have grown, changed and needed something new.
Whether it’s a website update, a new service page, ongoing marketing, SEO, social media or simply a fresh idea they want to bring to life, being trusted again means a lot.
Growth in business isn’t always about constantly finding new clients.
