We're Hiring — Junior Rural Merchandise Assistant (Casual) | Gympie

Tom Grady Rural Merchandise is a local, family-run rural and farm supplies store in the heart of Gympie, and we're on the lookout for a reliable Junior Rural Merchandise Assistant to join our team on a casual basis.

We're keen to hear from young people with a farming or rural background — if you've grown up on the land or spent time around a farm, you'll already know a lot about the products we sell and the customers we serve. You don't need retail experience; we'll teach you the shop side. If you're friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in around the store, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing:

*Greeting and serving customers, and helping them find the right products
*Answering questions and giving advice on our range
*Helping load purchased goods into customers' vehicles
*Receiving, storing and stocking merchandise, and helping with stocktakes
*Pricing and ticketing stock, and setting up displays and promotions
*Keeping the store clean, tidy and safe
*Staying security-aware and following our safety procedures

What we're looking for:

*Farming, rural or agricultural experience (a genuine advantage in this role)
*A positive, can-do attitude and good communication skills
*Reliability and a genuine willingness to learn
*Happy with physical work (lifting and moving stock)
*Available for a range of shifts across our trading hours (Monday–Saturday)
*A current Queensland driver's licence (P-plates are fine) is an advantage, as some duties involve loading and moving stock

The role: casual, engaged under the General Retail Industry Award 2020, hours by roster.
