Why OrganicBox Exists π
Many of our newer customers don't know the story behind OrganicBox.
The truth is, OrganicBox wasn't created because we wanted to sell fruit and vegetables.
It was created because of our own experiences with health, family and the desire to make better choices.
More than 34 years ago, I heard the words "unexplained infertility" and was told I may never have children.
That news changed the way I looked at my health and set me on a journey that would shape the next decade of my life, and beyond.
It was a journey filled with heartbreak, hope, determination and, ultimately, joy.
I started asking questions.
What was I eating?
What chemicals was I being exposed to?
What could I do to give my body the best possible chance to be a Mum?
That journey led me to certified organic food and a growing belief that what we put into our bodies truly matters.
Then, decades later, life threw another challenge my way.
Nearly 4 years ago now, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, told to put my affairs in order and underwent surgery for a radical hysterectomy.
Thankfully, after surgery, I received the news that I did not have cancer, despite having a 17cm x 10cm x 10cm growth, and CA reading of 145.
But, the experience was a powerful reminder that our health is precious and often something we only truly appreciate when it's threatened.
Years earlier, Jason had his own experiences with cancer, as he watched his father go through treatment, receive the all-clear, only for the cancer to return more aggressively, and ultimately take his life.
Those experiences shaped us both.
They shaped the way we think about food.
They shaped the way we think about health.
And they shaped the reason OrganicBox started 16 years ago, and why it still exists today.
But here's something we've learned along the way.
Healthy living isn't hard because we don't know what to do.
Most of us already know.
Eat more fruits and vegetables.
Eat less highly processed food.
Make healthier choices.
The hard part is staying on track.
Life gets busy.
Work gets stressful.
Families need our attention.
And even when we have the best intentions, it's easy to slip back into habits that don't support the life we want to live.
I know that because I've lived it.
Even after infertility challenges.
Even after an ovarian cancer diagnosis.
Even surrounded by fresh, delicious food every day.
I still find myself falling off track from time to time.
That's when I realised something important.
People don't need more information.
They need support.
They need systems.
They need healthy choices to be easier when life gets messy.
That's what OrganicBox has always been about.
Not perfection.
Support.
A trusted source of Certified Organic food.
A simple system that makes healthy choices easier.
A helping hand when life gets busy.
Helping people confidently nourish themselves and the people they love with trusted certified organic food, exceptional freshness, real flavour and a flexible food system that supports healthier living.
Because at the end of the day, we're all trying to do the same thing.
We're trying to take care of ourselves and the people we love.
And sometimes we all need a little help becoming the person we want to be.

π₯ Honest questionβ¦
Are you still peeling your carrots?
At our team meeting last Friday, one of our team members mentioned about our smaller carrots, and said:
βIf you peel these, thereβll be nothing left!β
π₯π
It got us thinking.
Many of us grew up believing vegetables had to be peeled and polished before eating them.
But after a rinse, scrub or soak many certified organic vegetables can be enjoyed just as they are.
In fact our certified organic carrots arrive washed!!
π₯ Carrots - fibre and antioxidants are concentrated in the outer layers.
π₯ Potatoes - the skin contains fibre, potassium and nutrients many people throw away.
π Sweet potatoes - the skin contains extra fibre and beneficial plant compounds.
βοΈ Beetroot - delicious roasted whole with minimal preparation.
Even our potatoes arrive with dirt on them because the soil helps protect them naturally.
Less waste.
Less work.
More real food.

So, what l vegetables do you still peel?
Or what vegetables wonβt you be peeling now?

π± BIG NEWS FOR CERTIFIED ORGANIC IN AUSTRALIA π±
This could be one of the most important developments our industry has seen in years.
Australian Organic Limited has announced plans to build Australia's first national organic verification platform, giving consumers and businesses a way to verify certified organic operators and strengthen trust in organic claims. π
Why is this important?
β
Greater transparency
β
Easier verification of certified operators
β
Increased consumer confidence
β
Stronger protection for businesses and farmers investing in certification
β
A major step forward for integrity in the organic industry
For too long, consumers have been expected to navigate the difference between "organic" and "certified organic" on their own.
Certification involves audits, traceability, compliance, record keeping and ongoing verification. It's not just a label, it's a commitment to accountability throughout the supply chain.
This new platform has the potential to make verification easier than ever before and help consumers make more informed choices.
As certified organic operators and farmers and supporters of industry integrity, we welcome any initiative that improves transparency and strengthens confidence in genuine certified organic products.
The future of organic isn't just about growing food differently.
It's about trust, truth and integrity.
And trust starts with verification π

Most food boxes are built for efficiency.
Ours are built for people.
Not every family fits into a standard box.
This week, one of our customers shared why she's a "sometimes" OrganicBox customer.
She grows some of her own food.
She has dietary restrictions in the household.
Some weeks there are two people at home.
Other weeks there are five.
And like many of us, life gets busy and sometimes ordering falls off the radar.
It was a great reminder that no two households are the same.
That's why we've never believed in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Need extra vegetables this week because the family is visiting? We can do that.
Don't want certain items because you're already growing them? No problem.
Need to avoid specific foods due to dietary requirements?
We can work with that too.
For us, it's never been about filling a box.
It's about helping real families make healthy eating work in real life.
Because flexibility isn't an extra service.
It's simply part of caring for our customers.
Reach out if you would like to talk about our flexible options.
