Of course, when Dua Lipa got married, her wedding wardrobe was always going to be one for the ages.

From a custom Schiaparelli skirt suit and a feather-trimmed Bottega Veneta gown to a crystal-covered Versace mini, every look delivered. But it’s the Chanel Haute Couture wedding gown she wore for her Sicilian celebration that’s currently living rent-free in our minds.

Having shared the first photos from her wedding to actor Callum Turner on Instagram over the weekend, all eyes are now on the backless bridal masterpiece that closed out her wedding wardrobe in spectacular fashion. Designed by Matthieu Blazy, the backless creation features 480,000 beads and 25,000 feathers, cementing its place as one of the most talked-about bridal looks of the year.

What happens when an entire city comes to life?

It happens when concert stages appear in parklands, rivers become light shows, dance floors fill before sunrise, and stories bring entire audiences to their feet.

From world premieres and powerful theatre productions to open-air concerts, immersive cultural experiences, larger-than-life circus performances and some of the biggest names in music, Brisbane Festival’s 2026 program is shaping up to be one of its most ambitious yet.

Under the vision of new Artistic Director Ebony Bott, this year’s festival invites us to switch on, light up and come alive, transforming the city from first light to late night with a packed calendar of free and ticketed events.

In our latest guide, we’ve rounded up the events we’re most excited about this September. Swipe through for a few highlights, then head to the link in bio to read the full edit.

The way we shop has changed.

When Brigid Gordon opened SWOP in 2013, buying second-hand fashion was still far from mainstream.

More than a decade later, the business has grown from a single store in Brisbane’s West End to four locations across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, while resale has evolved into one of the most influential movements shaping fashion today.

As the founder of one of Australia’s original fashion resale businesses, Gordon has witnessed that shift firsthand.

In our latest interview, she shares her perspective on the rise of resale culture, changing consumer habits, the growing importance of individuality and why today’s shoppers are increasingly choosing quality over quantity.

Looking polished in winter has less to do with trends and more to do with building the right foundation.

Great outerwear, timeless neutrals, quality tailoring and a handful of versatile pieces that work from weekday meetings to weekend plans will always outperform a wardrobe full of trend pieces. Add a leather jacket, a structured blazer and one statement colour, and you’re halfway there.

If your winter wardrobe is feeling a little uninspired, start here. Read the full winter dressing guide according to DISSH, now at stylemagazines.com.au.
