Graham is one of those people.

After starting with Nobles as a Lifting & Rigging Inspector, Graham made the move into Stores to be closer to home and support his family. It did not take long for his leadership to stand out, progressing quickly into the Stores Team Leader role.

But the road was calling.

Graham eventually returned to the field as a Lifting & Rigging Inspector, where he continues to represent Nobles to the highest standard every day.
Straight shooter. Strong work ethic. Customer favourite.

The kind of person who earns trust by how he shows up, not by talking about it.

A great achievement and a well-deserved recognition of the impact Graham continue to make across the business and for our clients.

We are thrilled to officially welcome Gavin Braam to the fold as our new Crane Service Supervisor. Gavin brings a wealth of experience to the floor, and he’s already hit the ground running with two of our newest crane tech recruits, Jayrald and Macario.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗨𝗽 (𝗚𝗧𝗨) 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀.

This is a multi-step process, and care is taken at every stage to ensure a safe, precise result. From releasing tension and removing the existing rope, to pulling the new rope through the sheave system and preparing the drum, the change-out is completed methodically before final terminations are secured.

As is often the case, we worked closely with other contractors within the exclusion zone. Working in close proximity means clear communication and coordination is always a priority for the team.

During the shutdown, a damaged wire rope was identified, allowing the team to work with the client to address it early, helping to avoid additional costs and future downtime.

𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠.
𝐅𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐓𝐔𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞.

Out on site, the team carrying out inspection and servicing of GTUs at height, ensuring everything stays aligned, lubricated and operating as designed.
GTUs operate under load and exposure every day. Regular inspection helps identify wear early, maintain alignment and prevent premature failure. It’s the difference between planned maintenance and unexpected downtime.

Good maintenance starts long before the tools come out. It’s not flashy work but it’s critical work. And when it’s done properly, operations keep moving without interruption.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 “𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁”, 𝗶𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁.

Today’s find: a main hook block that wouldn’t rotate freely.

Inspection revealed a thrust bearing installed incorrectly, causing excess play and the hook shaft to jam against the housing. Stripped down, cleaned up and rebuilt properly. Operating as it should.

It’s not the loud, urgent jobs that keep operations running, it’s the planned ones done properly.

On a recent site visit, our team replaced all worn brake components on a client’s critical crane as part of their scheduled maintenance. If you work around cranes, you know brake systems aren’t something you “keep an eye on”, you change them when it’s time.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?

230 metres of 36mm wire rope removed and replaced safely and efficiently by the team on site in WA.

The kind of job that looks straightforward on paper, but anyone who’s handled rope that size knows the planning, control and teamwork it takes.

If you work in maintenance or shutdowns, you know the feeling when the new rope is finally tensioned and tracking right.

Out on site in WA, the Nobles team supporting our client with heavy-duty wire rope handling and install. No fuss, just solid work done safely, on the ground, in the dust, under structure, making sure everything is lined up, tensioned right, and ready to perform.

Today’s task: replacing a damaged 5-tonne auxiliary hoist rope, 35 metres up.

• Test runs.
