‘They didn’t speak to me’: This NDIS stuff-up nearly cost a man his life

Stevie Howson was handed the wrong NDIS plan — no wheelchair, no physio, none of the essential supports he needed just to survive.

Instead of helping, the system pushed him into a three-year battle for the basics, leaving him isolated, dismissed, and driven to the edge.

This is not a “one-off mistake.”

This is a warning.
When the NDIS fails to listen, people suffer. When it makes clerical errors, people nearly die.

No one should have to fight for their own life because a system designed to help them won’t even speak to them.

We stand with Stevie — and the thousands of others still trapped in the same silent bureaucracy.

It’s been a busy start to our name change from Sunshine Support Coordination to Alina Collective. Our team has expanded with the addition of support workers and we are getting ready for upcoming audit for continued NDIS registration. Our Support Coordinators have also been busy with supporting our participants with the NDIS changes.
