🇸🇬 Bringing home GOLD for Singapore 🥇
The International Bowling Federation 2021 World Championships, Singles final saw Shayna Ng paired against her teammate, and World Champion (Masters 2019) Cherie Tan. Meaning that Singapore was guaranteed to bring home both a Gold and Silver Medal for this event, the only question was who was going to be victorious. 🥈
The win was no easy feat as both players have incredible skills, making each other test their poise and ability to keep their nerves at bay. Both Tan and Ng won a game each meaning it all came down to the final two frames, Ng taking the win, with a score of 49-27.
Covid putting a halt on events was a blessing in disguise for Ng as it gave her the downtime that she needed to develop and practice new strategies to apply to how she played. Giving her an edge over her opponents.
Celebrations for the Women’s trios’ team for bringing home a Bronze medal. 🥉

Check out Chris Archibold, President of Dragons Rugby Club, on BBC News discussing sporting restrictions in Singapore.
The interview discusses how restrictive Singapore has been for close to 2 years regarding the pandemic & how it’s impacted sport which has been almost non-existent.
This has a detrimental impact on children’s (skill) development of mastery in their sports not to mention social & psychological impacts. It raises challenges for coaches to be very creative.
But you need to question that there is only so much they can do & one can tolerate.
