The Grand Canyon’s moody cousin has entered the chat!

Turkmenistan’s Yangykala Canyon is all blazing reds, pinks and oranges, carved into a landscape so ridiculous it looks like someone’s been a little heavy-handed with the saturation.

Getting there means rough 4x4 tracks, cliff-top campsites and very little phone reception. Shame. You’ll just have to look at it.

Did you know that Japan in winter hits very different?

Nagano and Kanazawa trade autumn crowds for snow monkeys soaking in onsens, near-empty ski slopes, steaming bowls of ramen, samurai swordsmanship and tiny bars where the whiskey flows and the karaoke probably shouldn't.
