Hope often gets dismissed as fluffy. Science disagrees. 🌈

Psychologist Dr Charles Snyder defined hope as two things:
1) Agency - believing your actions matter.
2) Pathways - finding routes forward, even when things feel uncertain.

This is what we call strategic hope in Full Stack Human. Nobody should feel blindly positive in the face of very real, and very prominent crisis and grief, but strategic hope gives you a practical and easy way to move through complexity without getting swallowed by it, so you can build the hope required to keep momentum going even amidst uncertainty.

So, here’s our question for you: how are you building hope this week? 🌟

Five. That’s roughly how many companies are building the most powerful AI systems on the planet right now. Five. Maybe six if you’re feeling generous.

And they’re getting better every few months at a rate that makes Moore’s Law look like a gentle stroll.

Here’s a number that should sit next to that: 11 million. That’s how many people are now actively building on Hugging Face, the open-source platform where anyone can download, modify and deploy AI models.

Five companies at the top. Eleven million people pulling from below - that’s the tug of war.

Already need a pick me up this week? Here’s some genuinely good news for your Tuesday morning. 🪸

A new land-based breeding lab in Seychelles has recorded its first successful coral spawning. This is a major step forward for reef restoration, now instead of relying solely on fragments, scientists are able to support natural reproduction, raising coral from larvae to boost genetic diversity and resilience.

Why does this matter? More diversity means a better chance of surviving warming oceans and environmental stress, giving our reefs a better chance at survival.

It’s early, but this kind of breakthrough could reshape how we restore coral ecosystems around the world.
