Melbourne’s beloved Latin band Trago Amargo are playing a free show at Bar Open on Friday April 3rd.

Expect soulful vocals, lush harmonies and warm rhythms drawn from boleros, ballads and danceable Latin grooves.

The incredible Quarter Street are playing a free show in the Bar Open band room from 10:30pm-12:30am THIS SATURDAY!

Quarter Street takes you back to the heart of classic salsa. Inspired by the passion of salsa luminaries such as Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barretto, and Héctor Lavoe, the band channels the raw, high-energy sound of 1970s New York but in the now.

Formed in Melbourne, Australia, Quarter Street brings a hefty, gritty, hard-edged approach to salsa, staying true to the hard-out analog era Latin music that defined the genre’s golden age. Their percussive drive, bold brass, and commanding Spanish-language vocals ignite dance floors, capturing the soulful urgency that made salsa dura a global force.

Come one, come all to the Sorbo Amplio Fiesta!

Sorbo Amplio is a Melbourne-based 10-piece “New Chilean Cumbia” band, that takes you straight to the streets of Latin America.

This style of music brings influences of Latin rhythms and mixes elements of Rock, Ska and/or Hip-hop. Fun, energetic, free-style dancing music, so everyone can be a part of it. The unique rhythm will take you on a journey to far away places. The Fiesta is a celebration of the Melbourne - Latin American communities.
