Normally I try not to write in the studio,
it’s kind of a waste of time for me because I don’t freestyle,
with my vocal training I’m a bit better at riffing till I catch it.
However there was limited time this day and accommodated as best as he could and I’m glad we got something down. 🇿🇦🔥

The story behind how this song came about is insane;
I almost forgot was prolific vocalist long before I stepped on the scene and had been standing exactly where I am for a very long time. I don’t know how to articulate my gratitude in what I’ve benefited from the architecture of his career, coming together with the skills I had been building, but I feel like we are just scratching the surface of potential in what a collaboration can be.

PART1: DOUBT KILLS MORE DREAMS THAN FAILURE …

When and I did Zretro sessions, he schooled me on a few tips about being less performative and more authentic, and I ran with that to improve my strongest muscle, (performance)(I sing better than most rappers and I rap better than most singers type shi). However my ears closed up when it came to improving my standards in business. And it’s hard tbh, everyone gotta go through it. No matter how fly I am I cannot skip that level. It’s not fair to the company I keep around me to not be able to acknowledge some very obvious knowledge gaps or keep on trying to over compensate with the main magic trick. EGO TRIPPING!!

*with that being said this joint superpower was written about my external practice and ideation of love and what I pictured it to be like and maaaaaaaaaan, 😅
Being able to tap into people’s fantasies and deepest desires is not the same as the work it takes to fulfil them. The more altruistic safe take on this is about me “learning to love myself and really that what this is all about” but nah
