Those drones are brothers, they have same mother but different grandfathers. That’s right, drone doesn’t have father.
The drones develop from unfertilized eggs, only one set of chromosomes.

Meet our new breeder Queen-Carnilolan. 🥰
They are known as the most docile of the three common races in Australia. Great wax builder, calm and productive.

Happy winter solstice!!
Day one of bee season, things start to change as day light hours increase.
Hope you and your bees are well!
Just remember don’t open your hive unless temperature is above 22’C, we are still in winter 😄
Who can spot the queen? 😉
If you’ve noticed your bees doing some odd things today, don’t worry! You’re not the only one. We’ve received a flurry of messages from people concerned they bees are ready to swarm.
What we’re seeing is a mixture of orientation flights… new bees seeing the world for the first time after being constrained inside the hive due to this crazy weather. Also bees are having a good clean out! Some of them might be fanning at entrance, drying the hive.
The bees just can’t wait to get back to work! 😄
