The Erina Rural Fire Brigade will be hosting a community street meeting at the corner of Spectrum Road and Tottenham Place to discuss bush fire safety and preparedness. On Saturday the 20th of June 10am - 2pm

🔥 Learn how to better prepare your home and family for the upcoming fire season.
🤝 Meet your local firefighters and have your bush fire safety questions answered.

🔥Want to know what’s happening at Kincumber Mountain Reserve?🔥

The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) will be at Kincumber Village Shopping Centre to share information about the upcoming hazard reduction burn planned for Kincumber Mountain Reserve.

• What to expect during the burn

This morning, Erina crews paused to reflect on the lives lost in last night’s tragedy, when Marine Rescue volunteers died while on duty protecting their community. They were more than just volunteers, they were dedicated, selfless individuals who gave their time and courage to keep others safe. Rest in peace.

Erina crews have been busy over the past week 👨‍🚒🔥

On Thursday, crews assisted with a hazard reduction burn at Killcare.

Saturday’s planned HR at Kincumber was postponed due to overnight rain, so crews made the most of it washing trucks and cleaning hoses, keeping everything ready for the next job. A big congratulations as well to two of our firefighters Josh and Hudson who obtained their BAO qualifications on Saturday 👏

Then on Wednesday, we had the opportunity to meet with the Minister for Emergency Services, along with local MPs, to recognise and thank the firefighters who assisted during the Koolewong fires in December 2025.

A huge thank you to all brigades NSW RFS, Fire and Rescue NSW, and the many emergency services and community groups who supported the Koolewong response. The list is massive and wouldn’t fit in one post, but your efforts don’t go unnoticed. Your service is always appreciated. 🙏
