A ‘touch’ of Gowans Racing history going to auction. Bruce drove this car in the Calder round of the 1978 championship & in the same year shared the drive to 2nd at the Rothmans 500, the then Bathurst 1000 lead up event 🏆

Genuine Bathurst LX A9X Torana Racecar – Burns & Co. Auctions This genuine GMP&A A9x Torana racecar was hand built on the line by the Roadways-Gown-Hindhaugh Team. It debuted at the first round that A9x’s were eligible, the Hang Ten 400 at Sandown on 11th September, 1977. It’s Group C Logbook No. V4128 was issued on 9th September, 1977.

Quite an eventful Race 4!!
Scary incident while running for the lead, thankfully everyone is ok.
Ended up finishing 4th for the race and second for the round!!

Huge thanks to the crew, Dave, Tony, Preecey and Bruce.

Nothing would be possible without Valvoline’s continued support.

Hectic Race 3 reverse grid. Finished 6th, classified 5th.
I got hit by a spinning car, which buckled the left real wheel & bent the axel. Then later in the race, oil was on the track, causing me to to hit someone, damaged the front bonnet.

Good news, we are off pole for the final.

Lights to flag victory this morning for Race2. The cold weather suited us well.
Reverse grip top 10 for Race 3, then double points Race 4.
It’s hard racing, you can’t give an inch!
