I’ve been thinking long and hard recently about how best to manage my mental health when it comes to Forests and Things. Quite obviously lately, Forests and Things has been on a bit of a break, but I’m hoping it’ll start to come to the forefront again soon.
So. I’ve decided for the foreseeable future, we’ll only be making and selling our Wind In The Hair Shirt and our Down The River Dress.

TW - Assault
366 days. It’s been 366 days and when I think about it I can still feel the exact place they put their hands on me.
A year ago I was assaulted by the owner of a small company I worked for. It’s hard to talk about most of the time but I also try to be very open about it because it’s something that is all too common. I’ve had the “this wasn’t your fault” conversation with many friends and then I had to have it with myself. Its effected me in so many ways, I hate when people get into my space even more than I used to, especially if it’s an old guy.
My love for sewing is basically nonexistent. It’s like it has fizzled and died, which obviously effects my little shop Forests and Things. To the point where I have had to move a couple of my favourite plants into to my sewing room just so I can force myself to go into my sewing room to water them. It’s a struggle but I’m trying to get my love for it back.

Anyway, all this is to say, I hurt.
