Wow, what a fantastic Kings Birthday long weekend with our Open Prize Meet and Long Range Shoot. We had several more interstate shooters and their partners attend than we expected and they thoroughly enjoyed our beautiful NT weather and lifestyle. Many thanks our sponsors Palmerston Quality Meat and most of our local Darwin and Palmerston MLA’s. I’ve added several more photos.

Our OPM finished yesterday but we ran a Long-range comp at 1000m today as we don't often shoot at a kilometer. There were some suggestions that a few of the southerners may need some zeroing shots prior to shooting on the Hexta targets but that didn't happen and as far as I'm aware no-one needed them. It is a callous distance on our range as you will see if you check out some of the plots but I think everyone enjoyed the experience. That's a rap for the OPM for this year, possibly be back to a Kings next year.

Today was the first day of our OPM after having to cancel the Kings Prize meeting for this year. We did have a few southerners turn up who I think were happy to see the warm weather. The day in general was a huge success even though we would have like some extra numbers. As usual the range didn't let anyone off easily but we did have one who shot clean for the four ranges. The link following is the Hexta scores and the results are also on the NRAA website under results. We do it again tomorrow.

Today's shoot was at 600m, lots of smoke around, good indication of the Dry Season. The smoke wasn't the problem so much as nasty little pockets of air which caught a number of shooters out.
As usual all scores are on Hexta with the members comp scores on the link following.https://www.darwinrifleclub.org.au/images/results/weekly/2026/WeeklyScore300526.pdf

Today was a bit trying at 400 m due to some technical problems but we did finish the shoot. One of our members was a birthday boy but didn't let on and left early. Happy Birthday ED, you had a win so hope the rest of your day was fulfilling.
As usual all scores on Hexta with our comp scores on the following link.https://www.darwinrifleclub.org.au/images/results/weekly/2026/WeeklyScore160526.pdf
