Farmers do what they do because they love it. It’s a lifestyle and they tend to wear 10 different hats everyday to do their job. No one really goes into farming for money, more for the love of the life it provides.

Last Thursday, we hosted our second ‘Stock Chats’ session, with a great afternoon of discussion and practical animal health information.

Dr. Emilee Johnstone, CT LLS District Veterinarian, shared insights into some of the key animal health challenges we saw this autumn, including BRD and Barbers Pole Worm, along with a valuable discussion around grazing crop issues such as photosensitisation, bloat, pulpy kidney and PEM.

Our Animal Production Advisor, Em Boland, also covered some important considerations for weaning lambs and shared tips to help set up a successful weaning program this season.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, and a special thank you to Em Johnstone for giving up her afternoon to share her knowledge and expertise with our local producers.
