📝 Grant Assessor Opportunity

Music Victoria is seeking expressions of interest from Victorian music industry professionals to join a pool of paid assessors for current and future funding opportunities.

We are looking to build a broad and diverse assessor pool that reflects the depth of Victoria’s contemporary music community. This includes people with experience across First Peoples-led practice, live music, festivals, venues, artist management, touring, community music, disability arts, regional music activity, multicultural communities, production, programming, music education, youth engagement, recording, promotion, and more.

Assessors may be engaged across a range of assessment projects, including devolved funding, grant rounds, industry initiatives and sector development opportunities relating to artists, venues, festivals, live music events, organisations and music businesses.

Projects are paid, flexible, and generally involve around 18 hours of work across a 2 to 4 week period.

Previous assessment experience is welcome, but not required.

Applications close Monday 6 July.

To express your interest in joining Music Victoria’s assessor pool, please read the guidelines on our website and apply here: https://www.musicvictoria.com.au/get-involved/become-a-grant-assessor/

Today, on Mabo Day and the final day of National Reconciliation Week, the Music Victoria and VMDO teams took part in the Voices Amplified cultural responsiveness training delivered by Darug man Baydon Widdicombe from BPW Consulting through Support Act.

As a music community, we know that listening is at the heart of what we do. Today's session reinforced the importance of listening to, learning from and creating space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, stories, perspectives, knowledge and leadership.

We thank Baydon, for sharing his experience, insights and generosity. The session gave us plenty to reflect on and reinforced that reconciliation is an ongoing commitment that requires curiosity, respect, action and accountability.

On a day that marks the enduring legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo and closes National Reconciliation Week, we're grateful for the opportunity to keep learning and to consider how we can help build a stronger, more inclusive music community.
