We cannot become a country that punishes aspiration, savings, investment and self-reliance. But that’s exactly what Labor’s toxic taxes are doing.
While the Government seems to have plenty of time to waste, here's what I've been busy doing in Canberra this fortnight.

When the founders of our nation chose the name "Commonwealth", they were making a statement about what Australia should be.
A country where prosperity isn't reserved for a privileged few, but shared broadly across the community.
That's why one of the most important economic measures is GDP per capita. Put simply, it measures how much wealth we are creating for each Australian.
This week, that figure went backwards again.
GDP per capita fell by 0.1 per cent in the first quarter of the year, marking the tenth quarterly decline under Labor.
Australia's population has grown by around two million people since Labor came to office. The economy itself has continued to grow. But the share of that prosperity available to each Australian has shrunk.
Productivity is down.
Living standards are down.
GDP per capita is down.
A nation does not become more prosperous simply because it becomes larger.
The promise of the Commonwealth was never that Australia would just grow in size.
The promise was that each generation would enjoy a better life than the one before it.
Too many Australians would struggle to say that is happening today.
The message from Redlanders is clear, the aged care system isn't working.
After surveying locals about their experiences with My Aged Care, I heard deeply concerning stories of lengthy delays, provider shortages and families struggling to access the support they need.
Older Australians deserve better than a system that leaves them waiting months, or years for basic care.
These are the symptoms of a system that is too hard to navigate, too slow to respond and too disconnected from common sense.
Older Australians and their families, deserve far better than this Government is willing to give them.

In Senate Estimates yesterday, the Department of Health and Aged Care admitted that 24 per cent of assessments for aged care packages, that is one in every four, are now conducted remotely with no in-person contact and fed into an algorithm that has no human override over the decision.
It was also revealed that the true size of the aged care waiting list has grown to almost 200,000 older Australians, including those waiting to be assessed and those still waiting to receive the home care package they have already been approved for.
Redlanders are living this everyday and the feedback I’ve received from My Aged Care Survey just confirms that the system has become too hard to navigate, too slow to respond, and too disconnected from common sense.
Older Australians and their families deserve better than this.

These are not statistics. These are real people facing real consequences.
Australians are working hard, paying their taxes, and trying to get ahead. The last thing they need is a government making it harder to invest, grow a business, or plan for the future.
The message from my community is clear, they want these taxes axed!
Since Labor was elected, Australia has had the biggest fall in living standards in the developed world.

Wesley LifeForce will be holding a Su***de Prevention Training Session here in the Redlands.
Opening conversations around su***de is incredibly important in helping raise awareness and prevent su***de within our communities. Yet for many people, that may not know how to start those conversations or how to best support someone who may be struggling.
This practical workshop helps participants better understand su***de, recognise warning signs, challenge stigma, and develop the skills and confidence to support someone in crisis. These are valuable skills that could one day help save a life.
📅 Thursday 16 July
⏰ 9:30am – 1:30pm
📍 Redland Bay Community Hall
Su***de prevention starts with awareness. Training like this helps give ordinary Australians the confidence to recognise the signs, start a conversation, and potentially save a life.
