Smoke is currently affecting Charleville. This is from hazard reduction burns near Cobb Street, Stuart Street and Jupp Street. These fires are under control.



What you should do:

- Stay inside and close windows and doors.

- Keep respiratory medication close by.

- Avoid driving through smoke if you can.

- Watch out for firefighters working in the area.

- Do not fly drones around the fire. Drones affect air operations.



Impacts:

- Smoke can make it hard for some people to breathe.

Primary producer Field Days will be held in Augathella on the 28th, Cooladdi on the 29th, Toompine on the 30th, Eulo on the 31st and Wyandra on the 1st. The Field Days are scheduled from 9:30am for a 10.00am start through to around 2:00pm. There will be morning tea upon arrival and lunch will be provided. RSVPs are to be in by the 21st of July for catering purposes. 🚫 LOCAL FIRE BAN EXTENDED TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL SOUTH WEST QUEENSLAND RESIDENTS🚫
Due to heightened fire conditions, a local fire ban has been extended and will remain in place until 2359hrs Thursday 7 November for the following Local Government Areas:
- Paroo
- Bulloo
- Quilpie
- Balonne
- Murweh
- Goondiwindi
- Maranoa

Under a local fire ban all open fires are prohibited and all Permits to Light Fire which have been issued in the designated areas have been suspended for the duration of the ban.

Much of Queensland will reach a Fire Danger Rating of HIGH today, with some areas set to experience locally EXTREME conditions 🔥
In these conditions, it takes just one spark to start a fire which can spread quickly into a significant bushfire. If you live in an area with heightened conditions and you are planning on slashing, mowing or using machinery around vegetation, please reconsider or plan to take extra precautions.
If work does need to happen, make sure you have water on hand to immediately extinguish any small fires and have someone supervising to ensure any danger is spotted early.
On smoke-affected roads, please slow down and take care to keep yourself and our crews safe while they work to contain fires alongside the roadway.

There are a considerable amount of tree that have been impacted and are burning and issuing smoke, this fire is within containment lines and does not currently pose a threat to any structures.
